So Ultra Violet it is.
It’s both complex and dramatically provocative, but how can we use the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year in an office environment?
OFIS, the UAE-based furniture and flooring solutions provider, in collaboration with Interface, Boss Design and Oasis Paints, has decided to put Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year to the test at WORKSPACE 2018.
The OFIS design team is creating the Violet Lounge which will have an interactive wall where visitors can mix and match this complex hue with different colors and textures and test out different applications.
“Pantone’s choice has been a divisive subject among designers, but we are confident that Ultra Violet can make a strong statement in interiors. When combined with either vibrant or muted color palettes, this purple shade blends well, adding character to space,” explains Melia Abs, interior designer at OFIS. “Visitors at WORKSPACE and INDEX will be able to see how a touch of violet can be used in the form of wall paint, furniture upholstery, carpet tiles and accessories.”
According to Melia, the idea behind this concept is also to showcase how new ways of working are influencing today’s office spaces. OFIS will be exhibiting different collaborative and lounge furniture from Steelcase and Boss Design, along with the Human Connection and Radial collections from Interface.
The design team from OFIS and the color specialists from Oasis Paints will be at the stand to provide insights and advice to visitors about colors that are currently trending across both commercial and residential interiors sectors.
Since its establishment 33 year ago, OFIS has been working closely with architects and interior designers in the UAE to help them find the right furniture and flooring solutions across corporate, educational, healthcare and hospitality sectors.
Additionally, the Design Talks, sponsored by OFIS, will provide cutting-edge educational content to the region’s design community.
