RP Global is a distinguished India-based residential developer in Dubai. Since the Dubai residential market is quite saturated, RP Global solicited international hospitality design firm Wilson Associates to elevate the luxury residential experience.
Located between downtown Dubai and the Design District, RP Heights is a prime piece of real estate that resides in a yet undefined neighborhood. Therefore, Wilson Associates created a unique identity for this esteemed new development that was “visually contemporary with a classic edge,” taking inspiration from the Ace Hotel in New York City and the Armani Hotel Dubai. Everything from the lobby lounge to the spa, library, fitness center and sky club is laden with details and finishes that take it to the next level of luxury. The property also incorporates floor-to-ceiling windows and indoor/outdoor spaces that allow residents to take in the views of the Burj Khalifa and surrounding city scene.
The design team paired the best of hospitality with that of residential. The luxury building has a contemporary and classic feel while remaining true to what it means to be boutique. The selection of materials and finishes found throughout were chosen not only for beauty, but for functionality and longevity, elements found in hospitality. The high-end amenity spaces offer multiple spaces for interaction among dwellers, not to mention places to unwind or engage in an intimate conversation. For those wanting to escape the heat, an encased round glass pod houses the sky lounge, an oasis on the 42nd floor. The temperature-controlled space provides a full view of the pool deck and, the impressive Dubai skyline. The lounge—complete with a billiard room and library— also serves as an extra living room for residents to mingle and host private events as well as offer a standout venue for relaxing in the evening.
For this Downtown Dubai project, the team used locally sourced, durable materials. With a strong background in hospitality design, the design team was well versed on codes, fire-rated materials, and products that had the utmost durability for longevity. Dubai’s heat and humidity played a major role in the selection of materials. Looking closely at sun exposure, the design team favored cooler materials and lighter, more neutral tones. The lightness of the materials and color palette helped the project stay true to its boutique, luxe nature.
