The Design Talks, brought to you by OFIS, provided cutting-edge educational content to the region’s design community. The four day conference discussed the latest trends and forecasts, with lively and spontaneous panel discussions with lots of audience interaction and dialogue.
index architecture & design awards
The INDEX Architecture & Design Awards, took place on 23 May 2017 to celebrate exceptional creativity, innovation and passion in design over the preceding year. The IADA ceremony showcased leading architecture and design projects, products and professionals across 15 distinct categories, culminating in the INDEX Design Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The lighting installation utilised the histories of Hull and Dubai in its display by housing the light experience in a fabric structure reminiscent of a Bedouin tent. Disconnected histories, connected through modern day artwork. The Artist Debi Keable was with her creation all through INDEX and talked about to any visitor who had questions.
The INDEX Style Guides are design industry experts and trendsetters who selected and highlighted the ‘not-to-be-missed’ exhibitor products at both exhibitions. Our Style Guides posted and curated their top picks and posted them to special Pinterest boards.
INdex design hub
The INDEX Design Hub was an area on the show floor where visitors were inspired by interactive Trend led activity, future design trend information and enthralled by unusual material & texture samples from around the world.

Harrods Interiors, born from the world’s most exclusive department store - supplied unrivaled luxury when they marked their first venture into the UAE with a five-star VIP Oasis set in the heart of the exhibition. Harrods Interiors offers effortless interior design and home styling solutions, ranging from a single room furniture layout to full interior design.
SQUISITO Soft Furnishing Studio came up with the idea to make an installation that represents the revolutionary textile world with the ‘jungle theme’ which tied in perfectly with the INDEX theme: Design for the Senses.
