Waterfront dining and entertainment destination The Pointe on the Palm set for 2018 opening
The Pointe - a new 1.4 million sqft waterfront dining and entertainment destination overlooking Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah - will open before the end of the year, developers have revealed.
Costing a cool AED800 million, master developer Nakheel this week announced that the vast island expanse is nearing completion, with the public set to gain entry in late 2018.
With more than 100 dining and retail outlets available, The Pointe will pride itself on featuring unique hospitality and commercial concepts from around the globe. Its centrepiece will be a spectacular fountain display set to mesmerise visitors with stunning shows that can be viewed from The Pointe’s wide range of waterfront dining spots.
It will also home to a 1.5km promenade – a destination in itself for residents and tourists to unwind at one of Dubai’s most iconic locations, or snap the perfect holiday pictures against a stunning backdrop. There is also plans for a cinema, children’s play area, supermarket, gyms, beauty salons and unique gifting concepts, as well as a car park for 1,600 vehicles.
Located five kilometres out to sea at the tip of the Palm, and just across the bay from Atlantis, The Pointe will "enjoy cool sea breezes and stunning views", say developers.
Speaking at the site of The Pointe earlier this week, Ali Rashid Lootah, Chairman of Nakheel, said: “We are moving ever closer to opening one of the most eagerly-awaited destinations in Dubai.
"The Pointe is an iconic, must-see attraction offering remarkable lifestyle experiences for residents and tourists. Inspired by the heritage and culture of the Emirates, it will be a stunning, vibrant and unique addition to Dubai’s dining, retail and entertainment scene.
