Judging panel announced as INDEX Architecture & Design Awards' deadline extended due to overwhelming demand
The strongest line-up of judges yet has been announced for the 2018 INDEX Architecture & Design Awards - with the annual prize-giving en route to welcoming more submissions than ever before.
Faced with overwhelming demand, the deadline for entries into this year's competition has been extended by a week, meaning entrants have until this Thursday (February 8) to apply.
With dozens of entries coming in daily, the long-list will make for a tough job in whittling down for the 2018 judging panel, described by INDEX director Samantha Kane-Macdonald as "the most inspiring and influential" the awards have had in their six year history.
Benjamin Piper, Partner & Design Principal, Killa Architectural Design; Carol Finnie, Head of Design, dwp; Indu Varanasi, Design Director, IR Design; Justin Wells, Head of Lifestyle Interiors, Woods Bagot; and Maliha Nishat, Head of Interior Design, Marriott, make up half of the expert table.
They are joined by Marcos Cain, Principal & Founder, Stickman Tribe; Mike Lewis, Director Design Studio, Meraas Development; Chris Johnson, Managing Principal and Creative Director, Gensler; Matteo Bianchi, Matteo Bianchi Studio; and Jo Hamilton, founder of Jo Hamilton Interiors.
Between them, the eight renowned industry influencers will choose the most pioneering, profound and creative design submissions from across 15 distinct categories, the winners of which will be announced at the glittering IADA ceremony taking place on the second night of INDEX.
The annual awards gather the industry’s elite professionals for a night of celebration, with more than 300 attendees last year.
