INDEX and friends see out 2016 with a Festive Breakfast at Kempinski's breathtaking Alpine Ski Chalet

The team behind the INDEX Design Series celebrated the holiday season in style with an exclusive breakfast party at Dubai's most sumptuous winter retreat.

More than 50 members of the media and friends of the show packed into the lavish Alpine Ski Chalet hotel suite at the Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, in mid-December.

Spread over three floors, the spectacular one-of-a-kind rental is the ideal place to melt the winter blues away as you toast to the festive period by the fireplace in the cosiest interior found anywhere in the Emirates.

With the surroundings taken care of, the hotel's five-star catering team were then on hand to cook up a delicious seasonal feast for our guests, who tucked into sweet and savoury snacks - ranging from reindeer-shaped donuts, to Santa strawberries, to croissants and pastries - courtesy of the hotel's Executive Sous Chef Francisco Fernandez Llanos.

The morning soiree allowed the INDEX team - and their dmg events colleagues at The Hotel Show - to say thank you to those we'd worked closest with over the proceeding 12 months.

And when it came to choosing the venue, there was only one place that was capable of offering up the ultimate festive get-together.

The Alpine Ski Chalets at the Kempinski provide the epitome of modern rustic. Decked out with an almost all natural interior - from its wooden floors and exposed ceiling beams, to the signature brick wall behind the main living area's faux fireplace - the triplex, three-bedroom apartment  (of which there are both single and double rooms available) offers the cosy warmth of a traditional Swiss ski lodge with views over Dubai's only real-snow ski slopes, down below at Ski Dubai.

It's designers left little behind in their quest to create the perfect mountain getaway, adding antler style lighting, faux-fur cushions and rugs, and a long wooden dining table that all help maintain the rustic atmosphere.

Equipped with luxurious Hermes amenities and state-of-the-art in-room technology, the intimate winter retreat comes with three spacious marble bathrooms - one for each bedroom, and all en-suite - with a smaller WC downstairs. The kitchen serves-up a modern cooking area, and the master bedroom views over the Burj al Arab.
