DUBAI, UAE – 26 May 2016 – INDEX, the GCC’s biggest event for sourcing interiors and design products, and workspace at INDEX, the region’s only exhibition dedicated to commercial interior design, today announced highlights from the 26th and 15th editions respectively.
The events, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre were officially opened by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE, on Monday 23rd May, and on the first three days welcomed over 27,000 attendees.
Samantha Kane Macdonald, Event Director, INDEX said: “The shows have been really successful this year - we had 350 additional exhibitors compared to 2015, bringing it to a total of over 1,000 suppliers. On top of this, we introduced a whole host of new show features which proved to be extremely popular, such as the INDEX Design Innovation Forum, which provided an ideal platform for the industry to come together to discuss current trends and challenges in the design world. An initial look at figures shows that not only are we up on exhibitor numbers but that the number of visitors to the shows has also risen for another year.”

The 2016 winners of the fourth edition of the Middle East Interior Design and Architecture Awards and of the INDEX and workspace at INDEX Product Design Awards were announced as wells as the 12 winning projects selected by a judging panel fort the INDEX Product Design Awards.
INDEX 2016 featured a total of 850 exhibitors from 50 countries and workspace at INDEX presented 180 exhibitors from 20 countries.
