American Contemporary design manifests in a curated selection of new product lines.

KOHLER, WI - March 2023 - Kallista announces its first showcase, a view of American Contemporary design, at Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week from April 16 through 21, 2024. This year, Kohler Co. partnered with global design studio Yabu Pushelberg to create an environment that transcends the ordinary, inviting visitors on a captivating journey where art, design, technology and wellbeing intersect. Kallista, a member of Kohler Co., will be on view at the International Bathroom Exhibition Pavilion 06 - Stand A38 A40.

“Kallista is the only American luxury brand in its sector with a design-forward vision, marrying global inspiration with our passion for innovation,” states Alexander Dornbracht, Kallista Managing Director. “Our newest collections celebrate this and allow our partners across the globe to fulfill their unique style.”

The eclectic, ever-evolving artistic style is reflective of the country’s multicultural character. It is the aesthetic expression of a dynamic discourse between generations of artists who have come to the US from all over the world to assert their individuality and test their philosophies without censure. This creative melting pot of cultures, influences, and styles manifests in an unmistakable sensibility and a distinctive vision: American Contemporary.

The legacy of Kallista spans over 50 years and continues to tell a story of disciplined artistry, celebrating the product as a work of art with cutting-edge invention in new collections debuting at Salone including: Guise, Bandeau, and 002. Kallista will also preview Collection extensions and new finishes.

Guise Collection

Refined geometry meets audacious engineering in the Guise collection by Kallista. Underpinned by incomparable manufacturing and artisanship, Guise is a testament to the formal and technical innovation at the heart of Kallista’s bold vision for American contemporary design. An unprecedented, cantilevered profile, achieved through ground-breaking engineering, is distinguished by an almost impossibly precise intersection of line and curve and rarefied thinness. Finishes and handle customizations are rendered with exceptional skill and craftsmanship. Offered in artisanal enamelwork and custom materials for larger projects, the individualized additions are a study in crystalline intricacy, introducing striking visual effects and translucent color in two guilloche patterns: wave and diamond.

Bandeau Artistic Showering Collection

An invocation of subtle adornment, the Bandeau collection is defined by artful materiality and a distinctive design that reimagines the contemporary showerhead. Inspired by historical archetypes of decoration and wearable ornamentation, such as headdresses, as well as the sculptural, pared-back silhouettes of current interiors, the collection marries superior functionality with nuanced attention to form. Lustrous metallic matte finishes complement the collection’s platonic shapes and intelligent design. Two stone customizations introduce an understated language of ornament as much aligned with ancient architectural detail and craftsmanship, such as the surfaces of Neoclassical columns, as with the minimalism of contemporary interiors. Offered in juxtaposing White Carrara, a soft, pale marble cherished for its dynamic qualities, or Nero Marquina, a sumptuous black marble with expressive veining, these hand-carved ridged cuffs encircle the core structure of the showerhead, reimagining the artistic possibilities of Bandeau and of the category more broadly.

002 Collection

The seamless uninterrupted form takes shape in the 002 collection with its soft round curves and innovative no-profile aerator. Handcrafted and hand assembled by global artisans, 002 suits minimalist and transitional luxury alike. The collection offers five luxurious finishes and three meticulously curated natural stone options in Rose Quartz, White Carrara, and Zebra Jasper. From elevated handle options adorning hand-crafted Italian stone to an understated lever design for a cleaner look, the collection can be customized to suit personal style.

Argile Collection Color Extension

The Argile vessel and bathtub - now available in a new evocative Black finish - adds a powerful statement to the masterful Argile collection. Expertly crafted by Workshop/APD, the dappled exterior is inspired by woodcuts and tooled clay. The dark matte finish of Black Argile transforms these delicately detailed surfaces into monumental works of art.

Graphite Finish

Brushed Graphite and Polished Graphite are two captivating new finishes conceived by Kallista to reflect the contemporary home as a curated space that reflects the discerning sensibility of its inhabitants. Offered in either a reflective gloss or a subtle sheen, the two finishes imbue Kallista collections with an understated impact.

About Kallista

Kallista was founded in 1979 by two European visionaries, Anthony Pontin and Norman Bell, who had the idea to break the white and chrome convention by offering plumbing products of superior design, style, and functionality. Acquired by Kohler Co. in the late 1980s, its luxury portfolio of faucets, fittings, tubs, and sinks flourished. Today, the award-winning designs are crafted in collaboration with independent artists and luxury brands such as Mick De Giulio, RAMSA, Workshop/APD, Laura Kirar, and more.

With showrooms across the US, Kallista reinterprets beauty by combining compelling details with form and function and utilizing cutting-edge technology such as 3D printing and engineering advances. For more information, visit kallista.com.
