ABOUT Sunil Tambe
Prof. Sunil Tambe hails from Dhulia, Which is a part of Khandesh in northwestern, Maharashtra. This is a tribal area known for the Pavra, Koli and Konkani Adivasis. The current exhibition is a series of paintings the artist has painted, deeply touched by the uninhibited joy and celebration he witnessed among these tribes during the time of Holi, the Indian festival of colors.
Sunil Tambe's Paintings are picture postcards of rural men and women in different moods, replete with their unique attires and the paraphernalia that goes with it. The paintings depict the jolly mood of these tribal folk, capturing random moments of their lifestyle, routines, and festivities.
