Inka Traditions was founded in the early 1990s with the goal of bringing together and organizing the many Andean and indigenous artisans who, fleeing the violence of terrorism, were scattered across the outskirts of Lima. The main strength of Inka Traditions comes from its origin as a project that includes artisans from all around Perú, who were concentrated in the outskirts of Lima as a result of the social situation at the effect of expanding the network of workshops that Inka Traditions works with nationwide. In this way, we established ourselves as a company that works in the creation and strengthening of artisan communities in Puno, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Huancayo, Cajamarca, among other regions. Inka Traditions business model relies on working along with community-run workshops across Peru in order to help them become self-reliant entrepreneurs who can profit from their art while enjoying good working conditions and safeguarding their ancestral artistic practices.
