ABOUT ADRIAN SHAW
Adrian joined Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group in 2012 to oversee IDdesign and United Colors of Benetton operations throughout the UAE, including 8 stores and over 200 staff. With more than 20 years international experience in developing new and existing business by driving sales and profitability, he is an accomplished and innovative leader. He has recently taken up Chattels & More and KARE under his wing.
Prior to joining IDdesign, Adrian was Retail Manager at Al Tayer Insignia, where he focused on implementing and maintaining efficient service levels and expediting stock availability from warehouse to showroom – maximizing sales opportunities. He would subsequently be appointed as Acting General Manager, achieving year-on-year sales growth of 58 per cent, improving customer service levels to the highest in the group’s history, and identifying and closing non-profitable stores.
He also served as Chief Operating Office at Arte Casa Kuwait – a privately owned, high quality ceramic and sanitary ware retailer. During his tenure, Adrian grew the business by 12 per cent year-on-year (over AED 45.5 million), planned and resourced top level management, identified new business and JV opportunities and created a five-year strategy for the company to enter the Kuwait stock market.
Other key career highlights include opening the first Jane Packer concept florist franchise in the GCC on time and within budget; consistently outperforming sales targets and achieving 35 per cent year-on-year sales growth for MFI International Taiwan; and successfully transforming Al Tayer Insignia’s home division into a profitable concern.
Adrian holds a number International Management, Retail Management and Finance-related qualifications, and during his spare time enjoys enjoys mixed martial arts exercise to keep fit and exploring all that the UAE has to offer with his wife and 2 children.
