	AIA Middle East AIA Middle East (AIA ME), a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, was established in 2010 to serve the professional interests of the growing number of AIA member architects practicing in the Middle East and North African region (MENA). AIA ME, the AIA’s fifth international chapter, was established in September 2010 to serve an active and growing membership throughout the MENA region. The chapter will enable the AIA to better meet the needs of its members in the region, and to uphold the professional tenets first outlined 150 years ago by the AIA’s founders in the United States. The domain of this Chapter includes the following countries in the MENA region: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen. The administrative headquarters of the chapter are in the UAE capital city, Abu Dhabi, with regional representatives/leaders in the member countries. It is anticipated that Chapter meetings will eventually move beyond the UAE and be held at various points in the Middle East. There are many fellow associates throughout the region and to succeed in its mission, the chapter strives to make participation of all its members as easy as possible.
