CONTINUING EDUCATION SYSTEM SESSION: Eames House; The 250 year plan
Seminar Details Index 2011 is filled with the cream of the architecture and design communities in the Middle East and the world. Each of those people works hard to create magical/practical/lasting/functional spaces for their clients. And it is fair to say that all are striving, when appropriate, to create something that will work for a long time--even if most of those spaces will likely see a transition to a new use. But what happens when you succeed? The Eames House, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is not only an important structure, it is an important interior environment. Today the Eames Foundation is embarking on a 250 year plan to preserve this modern landmark inside and out. Index 2011 will get a sneak peak, both at the challenges, but some of the exciting developments catalyzed by the Getty's cultural celebration of Los Angeles: Pacific Standard Time.
