Water Sports
Deep Sea Fishing:
The warmth and shelter of the Gulf attracts a large variety of fish. Species include the local Hammour (also known as Grouper), Barracuda, Shark and Sail fish. Half day and full day trips are available to the best fishing waters in the UAE.
Sailing and Windsurfing:
Fixed keel and dinghy sailing as well as windsurfing are all available from most hotels, with some offering lessons.
Scuba Diving:
P.A.D.I. (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and B.S.A.C. (British Sub Aqua Club) approved instruction is available at beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. Many submerged wrecks attract an array of vivid tropical fish. Coral and Reef diving in the sheltered waters of the Gulf of Oman offers a chance to see harmless shark rays and other exotic species. All diving companies organize dives in both the Gulf and East Coast waters.




Waterskiing:
The warm waters of the Gulf and year-round sunshine make Dubai an ideal location for waterskiing. Facilities and locations are perfect for both beginners and advanced skiers.

Snow & Ice
Indoor Skiing:
The Mall of the Emirates features Ski Dubai, the world’s third largest indoor ski slope, measuring 400 metres and using 6,000 tonnes of snow.
Ice-Skating:
Dubai has three ice rinks, one located in The Dubai Mall, one at Al Nasr Leisureland and the other at the Hyatt Regency Galleria. Skates and instruction are available at all three locations.

Other Sports Activities
Ten Pin Bowling:
Available at both the Dubai International Bowling Centre, Al Nasr Leisureland and Thunder Bowl (Tel. +971 (0)4 3431000).
Tennis:
Courts are available at all major hotels and there are several other facilities dotted throughout the city. The Dubai Tennis stadium at the Aviation Club is also home to the ATP Dubai Open that attracts may top international male and female tennis stars.
Sand Skiing:
For Sand Skiing, special skies are used and high dunes in the desert are chosen as slopes. Tours can be arranged on request from tour operators as part of a full-day or half-day safari.

Wild Wadi:
Make a splash in the oldest of Dubai’s two Water Theme Parks. With its thrilling rides and pools, it is a perfect way to unwind and have fun with the family.
Aquaventure:
Explore a world of breathtaking water thrills at Aquaventure. Slide down the immense Ziggurat and through a shark-infested lagoon, take a river ride of over two km, ride the water rapid and white water chargers.
Karting:
Individuals can drive at the Kartdrome every day, providing the track is not booked for an exclusive corporate event. The Kartdrome offers a fleet of karts to accommodate youngsters aged 7-12 years old and adults aged 13 and up. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up at the times stated and pay on arrival. Arrive & drive cost AED100 for a 15-minute session including usage of helmets, balaclavas, gloves and kart suits. Please wear closed sport shoes only.
