Visitor FAQ's

What is INDEX?

INDEX is the largest and longest established interior design show in the MENA region, connecting leading interior brands and innovative manufacturers with professional visitors. The show is now in its 21st year and as part of our continued drive to improve INDEX we are implementing a number of new initiatives in 2011 to offer more return on investment for our clients. We are excited to announce the launch of a brand new line-up of sub-show sectors (Furnishings, Lighting, InRetail, Kitchen & Bathroom, Textiles and Outdoor Living), each offering a unique platform for our clients to demonstrate, educate and generate even more business in the region.

When and where does INDEX 2011 take place?

The INDEX Exhibition takes place over four days from 22 - 25 October 2011 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

No. There are no crèche facilities available at the Dubai World Trade Centre, please do not bring your children when visiting the show.

Can students attend the show?

Students can attend in groups provided they represent an industry-related subject and are accompanied by a teacher. The teacher will need to access the show as a normally registered visitor and inform the organisers about attending with a group of students before visiting. Student badges can then be collected at the organiser's office.

If I have registered for the exhibition, can I attend on more than one day?

When you are a trade-professional, registering allows you to access the show on all four days. If you are a non-trade visitor you will only be allowed access on the first day of the 2011 show which is specifically open to non-trade visitors (Saturday 22nd October 2011).

Will there be anywhere to buy food whilst I am at the exhibition?

Yes, there are plenty of catering facilities both inside and outside the halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Can I buy items at the exhibition and what are the rules for collecting these?

Every year a large number of items are sold by exhibitors during the exhibition. We do not allow the removal of purchased goods during the open period of the show, with the exception of small hand-carriable goods.

In an effort to decrease the traffic congestion due to the collection of sold items during INDEX, we are providing exhibitors with a Domestic Transport Service.

Visitors / Customers are NOT permitted to handle cargo or arrange for local transportation for collection at the exhibition. Delivery services can ONLY be organised by DB Schenker or directly with the exhibitor.
